to remind myself that life is neat.

1. I stepped on the scale for the first time in over a month and couldn't believe (and was entirely thrilled with) the number I saw.  I'm glad to know that my once-a-week pilates routine, combined with my steady diet of pizza and Dr. Pepper is working.

2. Blake Lively married Ryan Reynolds in a "secret" wedding (I don't think it's secret if 70+ people were there).  Paper, meet cardboard.  Bland boring blah.  NEXT.

3. Robsten is back on!111!!  Phew.  I was worried there that my look-a-like was going to have to resort to an ACTUAL dirty hobo to date.

4. God created Kate Spade, who created these shoes

5. It's rivalry week.  And I'm definitely not celebrating that an athlete's sport's career is done, but I'm not going to deny that it isn't wonderful timing for those on the blue end of things.  Also looking for a giant banner to hang on my house in my neighborhood full of Ute flags.  Because I LIKE getting toilet papered.

OMG

YOU GUYS.  SURI CRUISE IS BLAIR WALDORF.

No, really.

Her parents are getting divorced.  She's got impeccable fashion at such a young age.  She's a fierce brunette with a love of headbands and tights.  Her dad will eventually one day admit his desire to be with a beautiful male model instead of Katie Holmes.

This is real life.

I just hope her "Dan phase" is someone like Maddox Jolie-Pitt.  And I bet she ends up marrying the future progeny of William and Kate.  Or a Beckham.  Of course.

because we care.

Anthony Weiner is a wiener.  Shocking.

In other wonderful celebrity/politician news (because as I've told Brad and others, those who want to be celebrities but can't become politicians): Nikki Reed and that dude from American Idol are getting married.

Important stuff, right?

Everyone's getting married these days - jeez.  I was just getting used to the getting-knocked-up-then-married deal.

Anyway, they've been dating for probably 3 weeks and now they're engaged and it was her birthday and she wanted something low key and so he bought her a 10 dollar necklace and now she's buying them a house.  As a commenter on ONTD put so perfectly:

Yes, relationships that entail the woman giving everything and buying presents and a freaking house always work when the other person gives absolutely nothing but action in return.

stream of conscious, like Hemingway.

I sincerely hope none of you read this.

Anne Hathaway and James Franco.  I like them both.  I do not like them both together or as presenters.

Melissa Leo is cray cray.

I also really like Mila Kunis.  But not with Justin Timberlake.  Boring.

Everyone is so awkward.  Oh goody - finally a winner who can speak without being insanely awkward.

So they'll bring the music out for the short film but not for the insanely annoying Melissa Leo?

Is everyone high????

Maybe Hugh Grant is Banksy.

"ehhscript is good.  ehhhhslips through your mind."  "The ehhhsocial network".  I love Javier Bardem.  And I love Spanish.  And I love Castillian Spanish.

I'm a big fan of people who memorize their speeches.  Wouldn't expect anything less from a writer.

I loved The King's Speech.  I did.  But Inception was brilliance personified in a film.  So sad about that.  But again - I am grateful for writers who write their speeches and who do them in such a way that it actually means something.

Really though.  That award was Inception's.  Chris Nolan is visionary - why doesn't the Academy recognize his enormous talent?!

Ah yes.  Hugh Jackman.  Someone bring him back to host.

Russell Brand looks so normal without the fuzz.

Oh my gosh did that person seriously cut an animal with a pair of hedge clippers?!

Remember that one time what's-his-name jumped over a bunch of chairs when he won an Oscar?  I watched that movie for the first time, recently.  It was good.  And the guy was nice.  And a good kisser.  Yeah.  Life is Beautiful.

Christian Bale looks like Jesus.

And I love Geoffrey Rush.  Even with a shaved head.

Yay for SeƱor Bale!  I love him.  I love that he recognizes his foul-mouthed tirade.  And oh my heart!  He cried about his wife and child!

If Inception/Hans Zimmer doesn't win for best score, I'mma choke a w[b]itch.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.  The Social Network was good.  But Hans Zimmer OWNED them with his soundtrack.

YAY INCEPTION.  Really though.  The sound was phenomenal and the music was phenomenal and everything was amazing and I am sooooooo mad.

Also, Scarlett, brush your hair.

I love all the calls for Unions.  It makes me happy.

haha Unstoppable was nominated for an Oscar?

YAY MORE INCEPTION.  That's right beeches - this movie was technically perfection.  If only you had given it to the artistic crew as well.

I'm loving all of the Inception people saying it is because of Chris Nolan.  It's true.  I'm SUCH a fan girl for this extraordinary person.

Marisa Tomei looks decent.  Except her hair is kind of funky.  And her skirt is weird.  And her earrings are ugly.

I love James Franco.

Cate Blanchett rocks my world, but what in the WORLD is she wearing?

haha The Wolfman was nominated for something?  That movie sucked.  And yes, it is gross.  The Wolfman WON something?!  hahahahaha.

Alice in Wonderland was a dumb movie, but this woman has sweet gloves.

Of course she gets cut off.  No one curr.

I'm getting bored.  People sing songs.  I still need to see Tangled.

James Franco seems to be fitting into his groove.  I'm assuming it's because the booze is kicking in.

I sort of love Amy Adams.  And I love that she's wearing a dress that I could totally wear with garments.

I'm in love with the fro dude.  He rocks.  And I love it.  It's like watching a college sports kid get something amazing amongst all of the pros.

I'm loving the Harry potter thing.  Really.  It's kind of wonderful.  Okay, now it's not so wonderful.  Okay yeah, the Twilight thing is fantastic.

I'm sorry, why is Oprah here and who told her that dress would be okay?

Aw dangit!  Banksy didn't win.  That means no appearance from Banksy.  This is sad.  That woman is extraordinary at holding her hands at her sides.

Woot.  I'm in love with this man.  Let's send SOMEONE to jail.  I vote for Tom Hanks.

YES Rubber Ducky Jr. is coming next!  And my cheating husband, Jude!

Oh my gosh we are surrounded by Jeff Bridges in everything.  Oscars.  Movies.  Car commercials.

Never have I felt better about being a fan of drinking Coke.  I'm glad I have sent people to college.  Nothing gets me quite like a feel good commercial.

Is that MJ I hear on the Secret Millionaire promo?  That was lovely.

Someday, one day, somehow, I am going to be at the Oscars in some capacity.

Yes.  Billy Crystal.  Oh how we miss you.  Do come back and host.  You're better than Anne.  But do it with James Franco.  I'm fine with that.  Drink it in Hugh.  I agree.

I once dated a guy who really liked Bob Hope.  Thought he was the funniest person ever.  He is funny.  But so is Danny Kaye.  And Danny is more attractive.

YES RDJ and Jude.  They are beautiful.  I am SO glad they talked about RDJ being a former druggie.

INCEPTION BETTER WIN.

YAY.  More Chris Nolan love.

But WAIT.  Is the top still spinning?!

Oh my goodness.  I'm so torn.  The King's Speech.  Black Swan.  Who do I want?

Boo Social Network AGAIN UGH.

Jennifer Hudson looks super fierce.

And you know what.  So does Gwynny.

On a serious note.  My cousin Shanna sang thing song all the time, and it was definitely better than Celine.  She was such a beautiful girl.

Poor Hilary Swank.  She is just not an attractive person.  I'm sorry.

GO BLACK SWAN GO BLACK SWAN GO BLACK SWAN.

Best director should have been Chris Nolan.  But I'll take Tom Hooper.  The King's Speech was the only movie I thought was better than Black Swan.

Annette Benning is super fierce.  But Natalie better win.

Oh my gosh Anne this is not a sporting event stop WHOOPING.

natalie

NATALIE!!!!

YEEEEESSSSSSSS.

SO HAPPY.  OMG ALL CAPS.

And so glad it's Colin.  My favorite two movies of 2010 honored.  That makes me extremely happy.

I don't like the Oscars.  And I don't like the MPAA.  And I don't necessarily like Hollywood.  But I love films.  Having seen all of the films nominated, I vote for The King's Speech for Best Picture.  Come on.  His speech and the Beethoven piece are the backdrop to all of this.

Oh, and by the way, I have a review of The King's Speech coming.  It was the movie that helped me out of my rut.  And no, I'm not kidding.

It did!  And he's gay!  Love it!

Please go see it.

James and Anne sort of sucked.  But that's a-okay.

true story yo.

Meeting the Queen was kind of the coolest thing that's ever happened.  It was so random.  We were just hanging out on a bridge.  I don't remember which bridge it was, but I can tell you that it was made of stone, and I think the stone was dark.  Descriptive, no?  Like I said, just hanging on this bridge around early evening, and it was a little bit chilly, but I was wearing this cream, wool coat that I love.  It has big, wooden buttons, and it also has a high collar that keeps my neck nice and toasty during these freezing months.  When I was standing on that bridge, she passed by me and complimented me on my coat.

Thus began our wonderful conversation.  We discussed the people I had dated, chatted about my Islamic humanities class, and realized that we had some mutual friends.  I know she's not our queen or anything, and even still, I feel like I owe her the same respect - but we couldn't help but talk and talk like we were old friends.  She's just so down to earth!  Truthfully, I can't remember what she was wearing because she said something that caught me off guard.

"Yes, I saw Tia earlier today, and I must tell you my dear - now I don't like repeating gossip, but I feel you must find out - that he has proclaimed to everyone that you have no soul."

well, true in the sense that this is legitimately a dream I had a few nights ago.

ending 2010...single...

just like all of these people (you know, as single as we all want to be, right?)

{as with all ONTD links, remember that they use foul language there... I'm not responsible for a naughty word you might see}

rumor has it...

I'm going to have some new traffic thanks to BTDT.

I really have NO desire to start a silly little war, so enjoy your stay.  And remember - first and foremost, I am a writer who doesn't hide behind an anonymous handle in order to say malicious things.  If you want some idea of the kind of person I am, check this out, or this one, or perhaps even thisHere are my thoughts on the Miss A program, some pictures of when I competed (including photos of the new Miss Utah, who was my roommate that year [I was also roommates with Jill Stevens - I'm cursed apparently]), and just for fun, I'm sort of a raging feminist, which makes my pageant involvement all that more ironic.

You stay classy, San Diego, and thanks for stopping by.

I'm grateful for.

Good friends.  Erika.  Whitney.  Stefanie.  Lyle.  My parents.  Wayne and Leslie.  Natalie.  So many good people that I'm surrounded by.  People who treat others with respect.

Not to mention my friends from other states who put their necks out to stick up for me.

I'm a lucky girl :)

I smell a publicity stunt.

Evan and Nastia are dating?

It's a match made in Olympics pretty people Heaven. May they have tall, lean, five-headed, long-nosed publicity super babies.
