I really need to remember this right now.
My life is ruled by sad hope, it's sort of all that's keeping me going these days.

first china party.
After handling pork (and some of the hardened fat, mmmm tasty), with my plastic-glove-covered-hands only a few moments ago, I just can't shake the feeling that it's seeping from my every pore. Chow mein, on the other hand, has a less disgusting feeling.
Sick nasty pork fat.

I wonder
It's movie day in Spanish. Emperor's New Groove. I wonder if my teacher would notice if I had one ear bud in. watching Sydney and Vaughn about to finally be together on Alias would be so much more interesting.
erm.
interesante.
no?

here ya go Melissa.
over at ontd, they've posted the supposed poster for the New Moon movie (aka the one they're probably re-writing the most because *Edward* *sparkle sparkle* isn't really in it).
It looks totally fan made, (but then again, the last one looked ridiculous, so who knows anymore) so various comments contain all sorts of fan made posters.
This one's my favorite.

one song, one day.
"we're always either on the way down or the way up, you never really enjoy the moment when it's all put together cuz it probably never really is. those moments when things come apart is only setting you up for that moment when you put it back together again and you're so surprised that it's coming back together again. there's this beauty in the idea of being in repair. it's like sad hope. that's a really cool combination. I like sad hope."

{i love it when i find out that my favorite song is the artist's favorite, as well.}

a bitter-sweet day.
Congratulations to my brother Erik, who is graduating from medical school today.
But on a sad note, my great-aunt Priscilla had something happen with her appendix and during surgery she had a reaction to the anesthesia and they had to intubate her. They were unable to finish the surgery and will be taking her off of life support soon. She's in her late 90s, so in many ways it's a natural progression, and she has been in pain for so long that it's certainly going to be a wonderful relief for her to finally join her family. More than anything, I'm sad for my mom who is with Erik. Priscilla was like a mother to her and they've been quite close for a few years now. I'm just grateful for my wonderful family.

it's a night of reflection
About Miss Utah, last year's trip with mi papa (duh, yo hablo espanol now) that was a dream come true (and as I peruse the pictures that I have (and I'm only in about 5 of them...), I'm heart sick for that time), how biting my writing used to be, just memories.
Cue Eye Roll. You're all doing it, right? Here comes Jen with yet another post grounded in nostalgia. But I am who I am, I can't escape certain parts of my personality, and I feel the most inspired when I look back. It's why I truly believe that aside from being a critic, I am meant to write memoirs. My fiction is pretty miserable, my day dreaming doesn't translate into fiction all that well, and I'm certainly not about to start writing biographies of random individuals, unless your name is Zachary Quinto (Or James McAvoy, or Henry Cavill, or Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, you get the idea) and I get to hang out with you at parties. Then I'm game.
I digress.
Although, this blog of reflection has no real purpose, no real thesis, no real direction, so you'll just have to roll with it.
It's been a tough week. Language classes move much more quickly during spring term, I'm learning far too much vocabulary, and chances are most of it is going in one ear and out the other, or becoming completely lost in the far recesses of my brain. 8 am class every single day sucks. Not knowing exactly where you're going to be in a year, or two, or three, is extraordinarily frustrating for my OCD personality. The past few nights I've found myself crying over silly things I watch on TV, or read in books. There are so many questions. There are so many questions people won't stop asking. There are so many questions that I cannot answer. (No, I do not want you calling me to see if I'm okay, that's exactly what's pushing me towards nail removal)
But to step into the Richards Building, whether it's to put on a pair of ballet shoes, or my Freeds, or my standard heels, and to place myself in the mental state that is required to succeed, well, the difficulty I am facing is smoothed over. Even if it's just for a couple of hours. At least I have some place to escape to. I would so much rather face the frustration of not being perfectly balanced in arabesque, or not being able to bevel over my shoe in echappe fourth as well as I would like, or even staring at my imperfect body in those all-too revealing leotards and tights, than to face the frustrations that I am currently plagued with.
However, I'd give anything to be back in Rome, again.

{borghese gardens. I'm defacing some old pillar. and we were so scared that some weird pillar saving nazi was going to swoop down and cut off my limbs, we went too fast for a good quality photo. but my dad and I took Rome and its pillars by storm. and as a small matter of pride: No, my attitude position does not look like this. this is purposefully incorrect positioning. it's art, dude.}
I need joy!
Why does every season finale have to be so dang depressing? Thank goodness I have The Office (and ummm, Jr....) to buoy my spirits.

sweet tunes!
Maybe I'm a bit slow to this game, but I finally figured out how to create ringtones in iTunes without being ripped off 99 cents, and more importantly, how to create ringtones from songs not purchased, but instead imported.
I guess I'm gonna have to take my phone off vibrate now...it's been a couple years, I hope I can do it.

Love ya spud
2 of my goals for the summer (sadly, I have too many to ever attain all with success) are to save money and lose weight.
Potatoes are helping me in achieving this goal.

Not a Trekkie, I SWEAR.
But when you cast fine, fine men in the lead roles, can you really blame me for enjoying it?

LOL JK

slackedy slack slack
There are so many fun things I want to write about, but I keep watching episodes of Everwood instead.
I figured that since I don't want to risk dropping my external (where all of my TV episodes and movies are kept) into the tub, I'd say hey. Oh yeah, currently "icing" my feet after pointe. The training room has silly hours during spring/summer, so I'm left to my own devices, aka a tub with freezing cold water and about 30 or so ice cubes dropped on in for good measure. Does it work? Probably not as effectively, but it does the job, and my feet are holding up quite well.
Have I mentioned how much I love this term's classes?
Because I do.
Future blogs to come within the next week (I promise...I think):
+Class woes. Yes, there were many. And are many.
+Ballet/Ballet figure.
I've also had a request for another Kristen Stewart/Twilight slamming post. I can't tell you how happy that particular request makes me. Not to mention I tend to forget that people I know actually read this, especially since I'm not the best at updating these days.
Like I said, Ephram and Amy are much more exciting. Sorry.

{why they ever canceled Everwood is beyond me. ridiculous.}

this is awesome.
Cat Stevens is jumping on the bandwagon and is claiming that Coldplay stole the melody for Viva la Vida.
So I present to you this video. Enjoy.
