a bitter-sweet day.

Congratulations to my brother Erik, who is graduating from medical school today.

But on a sad note, my great-aunt Priscilla had something happen with her appendix and during surgery she had a reaction to the anesthesia and they had to intubate her. They were unable to finish the surgery and will be taking her off of life support soon. She's in her late 90s, so in many ways it's a natural progression, and she has been in pain for so long that it's certainly going to be a wonderful relief for her to finally join her family. More than anything, I'm sad for my mom who is with Erik. Priscilla was like a mother to her and they've been quite close for a few years now. I'm just grateful for my wonderful family.
